As a person who menstruates, especially in 2025, I can’t help but wonder why menstrual health is still wrapped in stigma and misinformation. Yet, in the midst of this outdated reality, one digital platform is transforming education into empowerment. Wandering Wombs, a digital platform launched in November 2024, wants to transform our understanding and celebration of menstrual health. The brainchild of lead designer and art director Christie Wu, this initiative is as much about visual delight as it is about informative content.

Navigating to wanderingwombs.club, one is cheerily greeted by animated womb characters dancing across the screen, set against a warm and inviting color palette. These design choices aren’t merely for show; they’re intentional, and crafted to make learning about the menstrual cycle both approachable and engaging. Wu’s philosophy shines through here: “Learning about menstrual health should feel empowering and approachable,” she says. “Our designs invite users to explore their cycles with curiosity and confidence.”

Where Wandering Wombs truly shines is its commitment to community engagement. Beyond the digital realm, the platform plans to host cycle journaling workshops, book clubs, and even pop-up cafés. These initiatives create spaces where individuals can share experiences, offer support, and foster a sense of belonging.

At a time when reproductive rights are under attack and critical online government resources are disappearing, platforms like Wandering Wombs are more important than ever. With recent legislative rollbacks and an alarming increase in disinformation, accessible and inclusive education about menstrual and reproductive health is a necessity, not a luxury. With official sources becoming unreliable or vanishing altogether, independent, community-driven platforms fill the void, ensuring people have the knowledge they need to advocate for their health and well-being.

Wandering Wombs breaks the mold — not just as a platform, but as a movement — blending design, education, and inclusivity, challenging us to rethink how we view and discuss menstrual health. Through approachable design and community-driven initiatives, it’s paving the way for a more informed and connected future—because knowledge is power, and it’s time to reclaim it.

The post Wandering Wombs Provides a Lifeline in the Fight for Reproductive Rights appeared first on PRINT Magazine.

As a person who menstruates, especially in 2025, I can’t help but wonder why menstrual health is still wrapped in stigma and misinformation.
